Here’s some more Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker news. Konami today sent out a press release detailing some of the game’s features, including those weird singing weapons we heard about a while back.

The first major reveal is the Mother Base offshore plant. Players can recruit defeated enemies and transport them to Mother Base by using the Fulton Recovery System.By gathering more staff, players will be able to expand Mother Base and gain access to new functions. These recruited soldiers also have their own unique attributes to help Snake and his allies. Mother Base is also where weapon upgrades and new armament developments take place.

Those singing weapons mentioned earlier are apparentlythe game’s new AI weapons — giant unmanned weapons platforms that Snake has to take down. These behemoths are varied. Some hover, some are actually airborne, and some are like tanks. Each AI Weapon can talk and even sing during battle using VOCALOID technology.

As for multiplayer, Konami has also shed light on Peace Walker‘s online game modes. Players can join in four-player co-operative missions or take part in three-on-three adhoc battles. More details will reportedly be revealed in the future, and apparently Kojima Productions is taking some inspiration from Metal Gear Online.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker launches May 25 in North America and May 27 in Europe.
