Legend of Hero Tonma to get US Virtual Console release this Monday
It’s been a while since we last heard of Legend of Hero Tonma being released onto the Wii’s Virtual Console channel in Japan. Now it seems that the fireball-launching hero is headed for North American as well, as Hudson has recently updated its VC page to promote Legend of Hero Tonma‘s impending September 24 U.S .release.
In Legend of Hero Tonma, you play as Tommy, the hero in the ill-fitting spandex suit of heroic justice. A frenetic, fast-paced sidescroller that borrows quite a bit from the classic platformers, this title will have you jumping down onto enemies’ heads, all the while bashing at the attack button to keep blasting out fireballs. All this in your quest to save a princess from her evil captors.
But if you think that’s all there is to it about Legend of Hero Tonma, then think again. The game forces you to explore, as not all paths with be open to you – you’ll have to find ancient keys scattered throughout the stage to progress. There’s also a multitude of powerups to help you along your way, in case the going gets tough.
