It's been a while since we heard anything from TT Games' Lego Batman, other than it being formally announced for the Microsoft Xbox 360. Now, we not only got word that the game is still alive and kicking, but also that it's going to feature an entirely new storyline. Yes, no movie tie-ins for the Brick Dark Knight of Gotham, he's going on a completely different adventure on his own.
This news comes directly from a statement released from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Senior Vice President of Production and Development Samantha Ryan, who confirmed that even if Lego Batman is to be released on pretty much the same time as the next Batman movie, the only thing in common with them would be that they feature the same titular character. Which is a good thing, considering that movie tie-in games have been so-so as of late.
Other than that, however, there's no news quite yet about just what other platforms will get the same Lego Batman joy besides the Xbox 360, so here's hoping a confirmation of the other versions will be let slip in the near future. In the meantime, we'll be sure to keep you updated on any developments that occur.
