LG’s TFT LCD Is Only 1.48mm Thin
LG is not going to let Samsung keep the “King of Slim” tag for long as it unveils its new ultra thin TFT LCD. The LCD is only 1.48mm thin, or about 0.058 inches. Showcased in both 2.0 and 2.2-inch sizes, the display is good enough to handle QVGA resolutions.
No word as to when the TFT LCDs will be available or whether LG plans on selling the technology for other companies’ uses. But with such a thin display, we can only look forward to a new batch of much slimmer line of mobile phones, portable gaming machines, PDAs, and media players.
