Lighstaber combat game coming after Lego Star Wars Wii

Lighstaber combat game coming after Lego Star Wars Wii - Image 1When it comes to the Wii version of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (also on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo DS), owners of Nintendo’s shiny white console will have some sort of an advantage over other gamers because the Wiimote can be used as an actual lightsaber.

Quite curiously, it seems that this is just the beginning of great things to come for Wii users and Star Wars fanatics alike. During Activision‘s Activate Asia Pacific conference, LucasArts‘ Quality Assurance officer Mark Montuya commented that the game’s motion-sensitive lightsaber action is “just a taster” for a future release involving motion-sensitive lightsaber combat.

Montuya, however, didn’t elaborate on how this so-called “lightsaber combat” will be manifested in-game, much less how a clashing between two Wiimotes will be portrayed on the screen. Despite the lack of information, it’s good to know that LucasArts is brewing something special for the Star Wars video game franchise.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga will be available on all platforms this coming November 7.
