LittleBigPlanet to exceed Gran Turismo 5: Prologue sales, says SCEE’s David Reeves

With the surge of updates from PlayStation Day ’08, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) president David Reeves has been on top of everything PlayStation 3 sales-related. After announcing that the PS3 is closing the gap with the Xbox 360, Reeves expects LittleBigPlanet to sell more than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. More details after the jump.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) head honcho David Reeves has been the beacon of PlayStation 3 sales news at the PlayStation Day ’08. After yesterday’s announcement that the PS3 has leapfrogged the Xbox 360 since October, Reeves expresses his hope that LittleBigPlanet will have more sales than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

That’s a lot of expectation right there, considering that the chart-topping Gran Turismo 5: Prologue has raced ahead to become the fastest-selling PS3 game when it was released online and for retail. However, with all the hype surrounding LittleBigPlanet, it just might be possible.

LittleBigPlanet has been at the forefront of Sony preview events ever since it was announced at GDC 2007. Along with PlayStation Home and Singstar, the upcoming puzzle platformer game LittleBigPlanet is one of Sony’s flagship online community features.
