Lost Odyssey’s New Found Info

KaimLost Odyssey is one of the three RPGs currently being worked on by game developer studio Mistwalker. The game revolves around Kaim’s many generation of love, losses and conflicts. We say many generation because you see, Kaim was sentenced to live for a thousand  years.

The duration of the information dry spell for Lost Odyssey feels as long as Kaim’s punishment already. Renowned Hironobu Sakaguchi changes all that, today, as he reveals many interesting facts about this upcoming mystic title for X360. Before we go those tidbits though, a minor disappointment first: Mistwalker decides in the end to have the game run at 30fps.

Sakaguchi, however, was quick to point out that real time characters will look virtually the same to the rendered ones, almost promising a flawless transition between the two. And since the hero Kaim can not die, a Game Over scenario is not possible.

The combat aspect will not be action driven but command menu driven. At the opening of the game, players can freely input commands for the battle scene. Judging from what is readily available so far, no special system is used in the game as the commands (Attack, Item, Magic, Run) are very basic.

A disc containing the demo of the game, which lasts around one hour, will be made available together with Famitsu this November. Needless to say, Lost Odyssey will be playable at the Tokyo Game show.

As Lost Odyssey will be out in 2007, creator of the Final Fantasy series Sakaguchi confirms the following launches well: 2006 release for Blue Dragon and Archaic Sealed Heat (A.S.H.) is being targeted for the first half of next year.
