Following a debate regarding same-sex marriage and inter-species marriage, Turbine, the company developing The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, just decided to pull marriages from the game altogether. According to Katherine Glover of Salon, the decision came from the executive producer himself, and the marriage feature was completely removed from the game.

The MMO title of the “Lord of the Rings” franchise is still in heavy development, although it had entered the Beta testing period back in September.
