Love your mom, win an Xbox 360 Elite
We’re not kidding. Major Nelson took a bit of time to post the contest in his blog (but the Read link will redirect to the Contest rules). You can stand a chance to win an Xbox 360 Elite (maybe for that black HD-DVD you bought at eBay?) by writing an original essay about your mother – or female legal guardian – and gaming.
Or, as the Rules elaborate: “Is your mom a lifelong gamer, or new to gaming? What games does she play? Does she support your gaming habit? Is she a n00b, or can she hold her own? Do you play together?” Hmm… these are the questions that haunt us…
The game’s open to residents aged 13 and above of the fifty states and the D. of C.; and Canadian residents (except for Quebec). Deadline is 11:59pm Pacific on Sunday, May 6. Essays must be between 250 and 500 words and emailed to xlmail@microsoft.com with the subject line “My Mom’s a Gamer”.
The other, equally important rules are available at the Read link. Oh, and if you’re wondering, if perchance you win, you’ll have to give the Elite to Mom in gratitude, the rules also mention you’ll get a gift certificate worth a hundred bucks for the florist of your choice.
