US Xbox 360 owners are in for some JRPG goodness courtesy of Namco Bandai. The company has announce that they will be releasing a localized version of MagnaCarta 2 exclusively on the Microsoft console later this year.

MagnaCarta 2 will feature a new story set in the war-torn Lanzheim Continent. The new main character, Juto, is your typical amnesiac JRPG hero. The game, which is being developed by original MagnaCarta developer SoftMax, will feature fully-voiced CGI cutscenes and will reportedly have over 40 hours of gameplay.

The game’s battle system will be a mix of strategic turn-based and real-time elements. There will be no loading screens stuck between walking around and fighting enemies, and some bits found in the environment can even be used during combat through the new KAN elemental magic system. Players will be able to switch between any of the party members and customize the AI of the ones they’re not controlling.

By killing monsters, players can earn Kamonds that can be used to power up their weapons and create new items. Equipped weapons will also dictate what special abilities a character has at his or her disposal. Some of the special abilities will also require timed button presses.

MagnaCarta 2 is scheduled for a Q3 2009 US release.
