Major Nelson to replace car crash survivor’s Xbox 360

Several weeks ago, we featured a story where an Xbox 360 owner, ZiKrOnIx, got into a road accident and his truck as well as his Xbox 360 all took a beating. The console had parts falling off and a really mean-looking tire mark on its case, but the owner (as well as whole lot of us) was pleasantly surprised to find that the beaten-up unit was actually a survivor and still managed to function.

You remember now? Yeah, THAT one.

Now, there’s a follow up to that story, as ZiKrOnIx has posted in the Xbox forums. Apparently, someone at EA got in touch with him and managed to get the company to ship him a fresh and free copy of Need For Speed: Carbon, and he even took a picture to show us that he’s not kidding.

And the best part? Major Nelson himself will be replacing the beaten-down Xbox 360 unit, as he so clearly states in an email to ZiKrOnIx:

Tim,

I am expecting a new console in my office this weekÂ…once I do IÂ’ll send it to you and then we can arrange to send your back in that box.”

Awwww… see? There’s still a lot of nice people left in the world after all. So all in all, it’s a happy ending.
