Video game title Mercury Meltdown Revolution for the Wii was supposed to come out last May 1. However, due to unspecified reasons, Ignition Entertainment and Atari decided to pushed it a little back and moved the release date to June 12. Gaming site Eurogamer got word today that the game will be out on June 8, or at least it will be in Europe.

The title is going to be a re-make of the title’s PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation 2 (PS2) versions but Ignition’s Ed Bradley has reiterated time and again that it’s not going to be a straight port. He added that around 75% of Mercury Meltdown Revolution‘s 150+ levels are new, not to mention the game being compatible with both the Wiimote and classic controller.

There’s still no official announcement regarding release dates for other territories. Regarding pricing, Atari has yet to give word as well but online retail chains have listed it for US$ 19.99. While waiting for the game and confirmations, just enjoy the new screenshots below.
