Meridian4 games now downloadable online

Meridian 4's games

Yep, after all the speculations, rumors, supposed closed door meetings, and whatnot, Meridian4 has finally announced that they have inked the deal with Manifesto Games to distribute their games online.

Steve Milburn, Director at Meridian4, says that this decision to put their games up for online distribution is part of a bigger move to support indie developers in making their games accessible to an even bigger market… the masses. Manifesto Games’s CEO Greg Costikyan says, “Together, we will strive resolutely for the overthrow of the boxopoly and the restoration of innovation and creativity in games.” Boxopoly. Hmmm. I must say, that’s an interesting word and concept. (Note to self: must. curb. geekiness.)

Seriously though, this move makes sense really because indie game developers don’t exactly have mucho dinero to spend on marketing stints and campaigns. And what better way to make your games easily accessible to your market than by letting them stay on their computers, right?

There are currently six titles from Meridian4 that you can now download at Manifesto Games’ website: Daemonica, Dark Matter, Great Journey, Space Hack, RIP, and RIP Strike Back. All titles’ prices range from US $9.99 to US $19.99. More games are expected to be made available in the following weeks, but you can now download any of the six mentioned games by clicking on the read link below.
