The SCENE expansion for Metal Gear Online now has a solid release date for this month. The expansion will be going hot on PSN on March 17. Konami will also be giving away the “cardboard man” head gear with pre-orders. The pre-order period will start this March 10 and will last until the release date.

You can get SCENE as an individual pack for US$ 9.99, or you can get it with the other expansions, MEME and GENE, for US$ 17.99. Konami also released new details on the expansion, explaining that Raiden and Vamp will retain many of the abilities they showed in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Both Raiden and Vamp can jump to high places and fall from them without taking damage. Raiden also has his High Frequency Blade, and a trap-detecting visor. Raiden can’t use the SOP system, but Vamp can. Vamp also has unique nano-machines that make him semi-immortal, and will be resurrected when defeated.

A new game type called Solo Capture, or SCAP, will pitch players in a free for all match with no team divisions. The person who can keep the Kerotan Frog (a pseudo-flag) for a set span of time will be the winner.

Finally, the pack will also contain new gear for customization, including the Bikini Outfit, Clown Face Paint, Haven Trooper Uniform Set, Resistance Uniform Set, Hockey Mask, Mohawk Wig, Short Cut Wig, Shirtless, and Robbie (Silent Hill character).
