Metallica on Guitar Hero III - Image 1More information finally arrives the new Metallica album that’s coming out on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Xbox 360, Wii, PC, PlayStation 3). The band’s Death Magnetic album was first announced to be joining the lineup for Activision Blizzard‘s rockin’ game at the E3 last July.

The DLC will be made available via the XBL and PSN this coming Friday, September 12, and will cost US$ 17.99 (1440 MS Points). There are 10 standard songs in the album, but apart from that, there will also be two exclusive renditions of Suicide & Redemption, with band members James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett doing extended solos.

Also, keeping true to what’s been reported earlier, the album will also be forward compatible with the other Guitar Hero title set to come out, Guitar Hero World Tour. If you can’t get enough of Metallica on your consoles, then just keep patient. It’s been revealed a couple of months back that there will be a Metallica Guitar Hero version in the works, after all, much like what they did for Aerosmith.
