Having sold over one million units in Japan during its first week, Nintendo’s Wii Fit is definitely a force to be reckoned with. It’s definitely one simulation that has achieved a great feat.
With this kind of reputation, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter feels that this fitness craze will be taking over soon in North America, once it hits western shelves. According to his forecast, the fitness simulation title will be able to sell a massive amount of units this year.
Executives have also told Pachter that when the game launches on May 19, 2008, it will be receiving one of the largest marketing launches in the company’s history – having a budget of US$ 40 million. With this, Pachter said, “Wii Fit will sell 3 million to 4 million in the US if they market aggressively.”
If ever it becomes successful, this particular title will be able to top sales this year, alongside fantastic sales of Microsoft‘s Halo, Nintendo’s Wii Play, and Activision‘s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) last yea. Well, we’ll just have to wait and see how this game will fare in the coming months. We’ll keep you guys posted for more updates.
