Microsoft pads up game library for Japan

Japanese MarketPeople say American Microsoft Corporation could never win Japan. Well, the multinational company wouldn’t just leave it at that. In fact, they have been planning an invasion (that is of Japan’s gaming market), and judging from how recent events turned out, they look very well poised in doing so.

During their pre-TGS gaming convention, Microsoft showcased a new software library for Xbox 360 in Japan that adds up to nearly 110 titles by Christmas and some spillover for 2007. Of these, 50 is exclusive to the Japanese market (can we say yet?) Some of the more anticipated titles include Blue Dragon, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Dead or Alive: Xtreme 2 and Trusty Bell: Chopin’s Dream

As Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of the Interactive Entertainment Business Peter Moore aptly put, “Our lineup of role-playing games from the acknowledged masters of the genre is proof positive that there has never been a better time for Japanese gamers to jump in and pick up an Xbox 360 system.” Many of the 110 games will be playable for the first time in the Microsoft booth at the Tokyo Game Show.
