This year, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) promises to take its major baseball franchise to new heights by introducing a deeper career mode. True enough, after watching this trailer of MLB ’08: The Show‘s PlayStation 3 version, we’re inclined to believe the game actually has what it takes to provide a complete Major League Baseball career experience.

New to The Show is an improved Road to the Show mode. This season, as a player in the MLB, you get the freedom to position yourself anywhere in the field when you’re on the receiving end. Other subtleties such as reading hand signs will be involved. It won’t be surprising if the PSP version also has these nice additions.
