Now that he’s back up and ready to get it on again, the 155-pound champ thanks Modern Warfare 2 for helping him recover.

“He told me to stay playing video games because that would strengthen everything up,” he told a media conference call about his doctor’s advice. His friend, fellow MMA fighter Ryan Bader, returned his Xbox 360 only a couple of months ago, just in time for him to pick up Modern Warfare 2. “So I’ve been on that non-stop pretty much.”

Thanks partially to his MW2 therapy, Varner is up and about and is now set to fight the interim 155-pound title holder, Smooth Henderson, this Sunday in Sacramento.
