Monster Rancher for DS now, for consoles later…maybe

mrdsIt’s been a long time since we’ve had a Monster Rancher on a console, and the closest the franchise got to stepping into this generation is the upcoming DS installment. But for fans still hoping to hoard beasts in HD, Monster Rancher DS producer Koichi Yamaguchi reveals that he isn’t closing doors to that prospect. There’s hope yet, Monster Rancher may still make a console comeback.

mrds_gIt’s been a long time since we’ve had a Monster Rancher on a console, and the closest the franchise got to stepping into this generation is the upcoming DS installment. But for fans still hoping to hoard beasts in HD, Monster Rancher DS producer Koichi Yamaguchi reveals that he isn’t closing doors to that prospect. There’s hope yet, Monster Rancher may still make a console comeback.

 

“I believe and hope we will have a chance to bring the series to a console in the future… I will be very sad if it doesn’t happen,” Yamaguchi told Siliconera. “However, it might be slightly different methodology on the console than what everyone would imagine it would be.”

 

As of now, Monster Hunter DS is eyeing a March 2010 US release, while those in Japan have had Monster Farm DS 2: Yomigaeru! Master Breeder Densetsu since August 2008.
