Just how bad does Midway Games have it right now? Well aside from filing for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, they’re considering selling off the franchise they’re arguably most well-known for: Mortal Kombat.

Just how bad does Midway Games have it right now? Well aside from filing for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, they’re considering selling off the franchise they’re arguably most well-known for: Mortal Kombat.
This is one of their proposals included in an incentive plan they submitted for court permission. The plan covers 29 employees and will award a total of US$ 3,755,000. But if they’re bankrupt, where will they get the money, you ask. Apparently, a distribution deal they made with Ubisoft for Wheelman (PS3, 360) will earn them around US$ 6 million.
It’s a very brave thing for them to decide to sell off Mortal Kombat. They’ll be losing one of their popular franchises (not applicable to MK vs. DC?), but at least they’ll be getting the funds they need to keep going.
