Motorstorm v1.2 delayed again, still warming up its engines

MotorStorm update v1.2 delayed - Image 1The scheduled MotorStorm patch update v1.2 was supposed to have been released last June 7. Operative word, quite naturally, is “supposed.” For those who’ve been keeping tabs on the update, you’d know that it hasn’t been rolled out yet.

Why, oh why, has this happened? Well, as IGN reports, the final release was pushed back to June 14, just right in time to go hand in hand with the weekly PlayStation Store update. However, when they were gearing up the patch for release, an unexpected bug was discovered.

IGN’s spokesperson for Sony had this to say:

A new issue was found on the 1.2 patch that could result in consumers not being able to establish network connection. At this time we need to continue to run tests and monitor the issues to ensure that it does not occur when the patch goes live if there is network latency. It is in the best interest of the consumer that we resolve the current problem to ensure the bug does not cause problems for future patches or updates.

One of the major changes of the MotorStorm v1.2 update includes improve online capabilities, so it would be quite backwards of them to have released a patch that totally ruined it. Props to them for squeezing out those network bugs. No further info on the re-scheduled release of the patch though. We’ll update you on the update’s updates, if you get our drift.
