Move over Apple: Microsoft retail stores coming soon to your neighborhood
“And stay tuned, because we’re going to have some retail stores opened up that are opened up right next to Apple stores this fall. Stay tuned, just stay tuned.” That would be Microsoft‘s COO Kevin Turner, announcing at the Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference keynote that they are indeed ready to rumble in the retail industry. Looks like someone’s out for the kill right there.

Not quite right.
Microsoft probably realized that Apple’s been enjoying the lack of competition in their Apple Stores and so decided to give them a run for their money. Consumers won’t have to wait too long to see yet another epic battle begin. Their stores open up this Fall, just in time for the October launch of Windows 7, and the holiday rush.
They’re trying to bite a huge chunk off of Apple’s market right there. Here’s to hoping they don’t choke. Exciting times now, isn’t it? We’ll keep you posted for more on this.
