New Assassin’s Creed screenshots

Assassin's Creed

And Ubisoft has done it again. After the highly-successful series of Prince of Persia games, we now have Assassin’s Creed which is due for release in the first quarter of 2007. Using the same in-game physics as Prince of Persia, the game allows players to freely interact with the environment. Players will be able to climb poles, scale ledges, run on walls, as well as traverse beams.

Set in the Third Crusade, players will be control the robe-clad assassin Altair and travel in cities such as Jerusalem and Damascus. One of the main features of this game include the fact that a player’s actions affect so many things. For example, in order to get to your target who is across the market square, many factors must be considered. Shoving civilians aside may cause them to shove back and attract unwanted attention. Killing the target in plain sight may cause the citizens to go up against you en masse.

So as we wait for the game to finally reach store shelves, here’s some screenshots to help through the waiting.
