Given that Turbine’s Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar MMORPG is set in the massive world of Middle-earth, expect yourself immersed in all the fascinating adventures and creatures this realm will offer. Now, in case you may find yourself more lost in Middle-earth than the proverbial Hobbit in the Prancing Pony tavern, The LoTRO dev team is happy to announce the first batch of several databases to be arriving at LoTRO Allakhazam: items, quests, geography, and bestiary.

Down below are detailed explanations of what the aforementioned databases will carry, and the devs’ explanations on how they work, and how they will be eventually updated.

Items
The items database includes virtually every item you can find in-game: weapons, armour, and more. This means you can pull up complex information on, say, a swords damage or speed or the beneficial effects of particular foods. Accordingly, you can view a wide variety of items based on slot, weapon, and armour type. Lastly, if you already know the name of the item, you can search for it in our readily-available search field.

The rest of the database descriptions (quests, geography, bestiary) are available at the Full Article.

Quests
The quests databases have been extraordinarily done on other Allakhazam sites on the network, and it is no exception here at LoTRO Allakhazam. This database has quest listings for many, many quests – both in low and high levels – that will help you determine the best rewards, relate where they can be found, and even tell what types they are before you pursue them. As a result of this, you can search by type, location, or if you know the name of the quest, by those means.

Geography
Instead of simply using the pre-determined “zones” (Shire, Bree-land, etc.) this database divides these regions into many small zones. This allows complex information to be provided to you in a very simplified manner. For instance, instead of listing all of the quests available in the Shire, this database details which quests are located in particular zones such as Michel Delving, Brockenborings, Greenfields, Hobbiton, etc. The same applies for items and mobs. This allows you to view a myriad amount of information in a selected area.

Bestiary
Despite its name, the bestiary database is not exclusive to beasts or even killable opponents alone. It expands to include everything that is a sentient, non-player character. This includes quest, vendor, crafting, and service NPCs. Given all of that, it is currently the most complex of the LoTRO databases for it allows you to search by NPC type, location, vendor type, and so much more. In addition, in the case of killable opponents – mobs – provided are explicit directions to them and displays for level, morale, power, and the like.

These are just a teaser of what is to come, however, as the devs announce future plans for more databases in the works. Expect more to be opened up in the near future, such as databases for skills, traits, deeds, titles, accomplishments, and more. And for the premium members of their network, the devs are announcing an advanced search option – keep an eye out in case they release more details on this. Feel free to leave a comment at the Allakhazam site to share your ideas with the developers – they will greatly appreciate it. Enjoy your upcoming Middle-earth adventures…and make sure to have a LoTRO copy from your own region.
