New Darkness Trailer From Comic-Con 2006
Starbreeze Studio’s The Darkness, based on the Top Cow comic of the same name, features a seamless and blend of modern crime drama and supernatural horror. As Mafia hitman Jackie Estacado, you’ll get to explore New York — from subway tunnels all the way to the rooftops — as you fight enemies both human and otherwise. It has both first- and third-person non-linear progression as well as highly interactive environments, including an in-game TV network that allows you to watch hours upon hours of public domain video content.
Wehehell, with the introductions out of the way, let’s get right on to the good stuff. Here’s some new footage of The Darkness from Comic-Con 2006. This is the game’s first new trailer since E3 2005 and it’s looking good. One minor qualm though is the way the clothes — most notably Jackie’s trenchcoat — are animated. Oh, and check out the extreme close-up on Jackie’s face at the 00:37 mark. Man, his pores are frickin’ huge. Must be tough trying to find a good moisturizer when you’re busy killing enemies left and right.
It’s slated for a 2007 release on both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
