If you’re going up in space to fight aliens that are horrific enough to get a game banned in Japan, you’d better pack yourself some good weapons. So what’s in your arsenal in Dead Space? Here are some new gameplay vids to give you an idea of what to expect.
First up is the Pulse Rifle, which looks like your standard Tommy at first, but its secondary fire releases a 360-degree pulse blast. Effective if you’re being attacked from all sides. Next is the Plasma Cutter, able to cut through anything. Alien anatomy also counts as “anything.” Finally, there’s the Line Gun, which allows you to lay down some mines.
As a little extra, the last vid is the game’s Zero-G featurette, which explains how gravity (or the lack of it) plays a major part in the game. Dead Space (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) comes out October 14. Here are the vids!
