New details about Ubisoft’s TMNT game

Ubisoft‘s announcement way back in January that it had acquired the rights to make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games based on the upcoming movie has finally borne some fruit in the form of new details.

The TMNT game, which is set to release ahead of the movie next spring, is currently in development at the Ubisoft studios in Montreal and Quebec City and will be released on the Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, and PC. The game will feature a host of adversaries taken from both the movie and the original comics.

Ubisoft’s experience in acrobatic navigation – honed through the development of the Prince of Persia series – will also be put to good use in the TMNT game, which will feature environments built around the concept of acrobatic navigation. Another feature in which the franchise’s familial theme will be put in the spotlight is the collaborative team-ups. The turtles will use each other’s assistance to pummel their foes as well as to gain access to new areas.

Ubisoft’s TMNT game is set for release on March 13, ten days before the TMNT movie hits theaters on March 23. Price details have yet to be announced.
