Konami Digital went all out on Wednesday night when they set off to announce their new game lineup, and Konami Gamer’s Night 08 became the floor to roll out the red carpet for the company’s next video game titles starting 2008 and onwards.

Among the titles readied for the Year of the Rat were Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (coming with a “secret weapon”), Silent Hill: Homecoming, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, but there were so much more.

One of the headturners that night was a new game in the vein of music rhythm gaming, and from the creators of Dance Dance Revolution comes Rock Revolution. The game looks to be an able contender against the new multi-instrument Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

The only instruments revealed as of press time were a guitar (either on lead or on bass) and drums (claimed to be “realistic” – with a six-piece drum set and pedal), and we’re not sure if more are on the way. Expect it to hit the DS (exclusive with vocals), PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 in fall.

Other new titles seen were New International Track and Field and Critter Round Up – the first being the first Track & Field title in the series to debut on the DS. It is expected to ship to retail on July, a good month before the 2008 World Olympics in Beijing. Critter Round Up, lined up for WiiWare, is the company’s first entry to Nintendo’s newly launched service.

Other games that took the limelight on the floor were Dance Dance Revolution X (PS2), Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2 (Wii), Dance Dance Revolution UNIVERSE 3 (Xbox 360), Deca Sports (Wii),  Hellboy: The Science of Evil (PSP), and the ambitious 3D survival game, Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked (Wii). More updates as we get them.
