New Japanese Laptop Features 17″ LC Display
The MCJ Corporation of Japan is coming out with two new additions in their “M-Book GW” Series. The top model will feature a 17 inch LC display with a resolution of 1,680 X 1050 pixels.
The GW2300MD, with its 12.1″ LC Display, is still a high-powered machine in its own right. With a 1.66 ghz Duo Core Processor, 1 GB RAM and an 80 gb HD, it includes an ExpressCard/54 slot and an SD card /MMC/ memory stick (PRO) corresponding slot. There’s also two USB 2.0 ports, wireless LAN capability, and can accept voice input/output. There’s also an on-board 56K modem for those with dial-up connections. The price for this model is 177,450Â¥ (about $1600 USD).
If that’s not enough for you, The GW2500MD model comes with a GeForce 7600 video card (128 MB video RAM), a T2500 Duo Core processor running at 2 Ghz, and 2 GB of RAM, with an Intel 945 Express chipset – so it’s ready to take on the most demanding gaming apps. Add to that a 100GB serial ATA HDD, and an DL correspondence DVD super multiple drive, the GW2500MD is a machine that should keep you satisfied for at least a couple of years. It comes pre-loaded with Windows XP Home Edition, and can be had for 212,000Â¥ (about $1,900 USD).
Personally, I think the extra $200 is small amount for the extra horsepower.
