New RE: Umbrella Chronicles screenshots to comfort you

 

The Nintendo Wii recently received its version of Resident Evil 4, and all was good in the survival horror world. However, Capcom doesn’t plan on getting Nintendo fans fixated on just one RE game. They intend to make Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles follow hot of RE4‘s heels.

Set in the events that took place chronologically in the Resident Evil storyline, players will notice a huge difference when they grab the Wiimote. This one is still about surviving hordes of zombies, but you won’t do it in the way we were all used to. Instead, this one will be an on-rail shooter where you’ll have to use the Wiimote as a gun to dispose of the uglies.

These screens show exactly that. Do you recognize some of these areas from past games? Word has it that old heroes Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers and Carlos Oliveira will be there to stop the mysterious Albert Wesker. The game also promises to show players how exactly the Umbrella Corporation crumbled. It’s still a long wait, so find comfort in these images while you do just that.
