Looks like Sony‘s PlayStation Home is doing well in its early beta stages. In its Beta 1.6 version, PlayStation Home allows beta testers to design their own “Home Space” with personal effects and furniture of their choice aside from customizing your character with a myriad of choices.

Avatars can also flit between their Home Space and other places using their “Home PSPs”. The locations now available for checking out are the Game Lounge, Central Lounge, and the Theater Lounge. As hinted in the names, avatars engage in many different activities within the lounges, such as playing bowling, arcade games, as well as pool in the Game Lounge.

The Home PSPs are also customizable, much like real-life PSPs with the addition of being able to change the PSP color. Besides using it to go to other places, the Home PSP can be used to read news, tinker with options, and read messages.

PlayStation Home is also made to be integrated to the PS3’s system, allowing users to add friends from, say, your in-game friends list so you can party with them at Home.

The beta still has a long way to go, though. With glitches causing some units to reset while relocating to a different lounge, Sony still has many things to fix to make Home a cozy and fun place for everybody.
