Before you start flaming us on the strange choice of words we picked for the title, do hear this out. Sega of America has just announced that U.K’s Kuju Brighton has a new game in development titled CRUSH, which should be an interesting treat for fans of both 2D and 3D platform puzzle genres.

The game is set in the mind of Dan, a man with a troubled past and severe insomnia. Turning to hypnosis as a possible cure, the game then revolves around his attempts to try to bring his life back together, all the while trying to preserve his sanity.

And given the surreal backdrop for the game, expect an equally surreal gameplay environment – players will be using an interesting feature called “Crush”, which allows them to compress the normally 3D environment around them (think Crash Bandicoot) into a decidedly retro 2D format (think classic Mario). The images we provide here should give you a much better idea of how that works in-game. There’s also a video here awaiting download, which should clear things up even more. Be sure to check the other titles they’re already setting up for release.
