Just when you thought you’ve gotten the best out of New Super Mario Bros., along comes the game’s little secret: A hidden challenge mode unlockable with an easy key combination! Players can enter the mode by starting up the game, going into the World Map pause screen, and pressing these buttons: L R L R X X Y Y
Challenge mode takes away useful features like being able to backtrack in levels, making it very much like the original games. Sadly, there isn’t much else behind this gameplay mode. Still, it is worth trying out!
