New Warhammer Online character concepts and assets: Dwarves

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Fans of the table-top RPG Warhammer can now look forward to even more goodness to come as the latest batch of artwork and assets for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has just been released by Mythic Entertainment for our enjoyment and perusal, featuring our resident dwarves for this installment of the series, as we feature the different races in the world of Warhammer.

Dwarves have always been the epitome of toughness and stubbornness, which pretty much resembles their favored dwelling places as well as professions. The weapons of choice are often large, heavy maces or hammers, or battle axes. Most, if not all, of these weapons are more often than not emblazoned with magical runes and symbols of their deity.

However, besides being known for being excellent miners and metalsmiths, another dwarven profession is engineering. Knowing the properties of minerals, stone, gems, and metals almost from birth, who else is suited for the job of building amazing infrastructure if not a dwarf? Though there has been much bias that only elves can make fragile, dainty things, the dwarves are also fully capable of creating things which require superior craftsmanship, a high level of detail, as well as ingenuity in its crafting.

Ever seen a dwarven’s engineers gadgets? You’d be surprised. However, one has to remember that being dwarves and all, their small, dainty things are also most likely things that go “Boom”.
