New York dedicates September 26 as Guitar Hero Day

The entire city of New York is in the grip of Guitar Hero mania as it celebrated “Guitar Hero Day” last September 26. This announcement is just one of many in a week long event, celebrating the upcoming rocker sim, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

With less than a month before the game’s actual release, fans all over the city will be jamming with guitar controllers in hand throughout the various events that will be held this week.

One of these events will be happen during the DigitalLife Conference at the Javits Center from September 27 to 30. For the first time ever, U.S. gamers will be able to play Guitar Hero III in all of it’s axe shredding glory. Those of you who aren’t strangers to the series will welcome some of the old bands featured in the game’s soundtrack, such as Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Pearl Jam.

In addition, original songs will be included in the game made by real-life rock legends Slash and Tom Morello. So why not celebrate with the Big Apple and play a mean riff on those guitar controllers of yours in preparation of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock‘s release date this October 28 for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, and the Nintendo Wii.
