Next-gen war: PS3 and Wii kiosks on the battlefront

kiosks

If the next-gen console war is taking place in a movie screen, this would be the part where the drums start playing as the two mortal enemies, the PS3 and the Wii, start to roll out its combat forces. But the war will take place in video stores so battle prep ration is accompanied mostly by the Sound of Muzak. However, don’t let the bland soundtrack fool you. The war will be as bloody as any Quentin Tarantino opus.

According to Rated-M, both Nintendo and Sony have started to send out demo kiosks for their respective consoles to a number retail stores such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and GameStop/EB stores. We know Sony is putting up 15,000 demo booths in North America. Nintendo, on the other hand, did not give specific figures but the company did say there will be more than one place to try out the Wii.

Rated-M said that different store locations and chains may receive their kiosks on different days. In fact, some PS3 kiosks may have been installed by the time this article has been posted. But one thing’s for sure, neither side will leave anything to chance. All kiosks are expected to be up and running by the end of next week at the latest, say Rated-M.

Hold on! We’re heading for a showcase showdown and this is one war where we don’t being being caught in the crossfire.
