Nintendo's June 1 PAL release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl false - Image 1While gamers in Japan are already savoring their first taste of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we have to wonder when exactly will other people get to enjoy the bounty of Nintendo’s highly anticipated fighting game.

With numerous delays already plaguing the title’s release outside of Japan, Nintendo prematurely jumped the gun by erroneously posting the release date of the game for June 1.

A screenshot of Nintendo’s UK site taken by CVG proved that PAL gamers may finally be seeing the game very soon. However, a short time after that, Nintendo quickly changed the information posted on the site to a more vague “2008” release date some time after.

When questioned by Eurogamer regarding the matter, Nintendo admitted that they made a mistake posting the date. Considering that June 1 is a Sunday also makes it unlikely for the game to be released on a weekend.

Hopefully, Nintendo will get it right the next time they decide to announce a release date for the game. In the meantime, we’ll all have to sit tight and wait for further announcements.
