Nintendo planning new Wiimote accessories?

It’s been said a million times, but it never gets any less true: Nintendo’s Wiimote leads the charge among the gaming scene’s innovative products. We’ve seen it hook up into other accessories to become more than what it is, and all was good. However, Nintendo seems to be on the verge of taking things to the next level as implied by their latest patent filing. Discover what we mean after the jump.

Nintendo is credited for breaking the market wide open time and again to let mainstream gamers in with their innovative products. We’ve seen it with the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk. We’ve seen it with the Wii Zapper, the Wii Balance Board, and soon enough, we’ll see it with the Wii Wheel. Don’t look now, but we might be in for more.

A patent diagram has been seen around in the web and it tells a pretty crazy scenario of the Wiimote plugging into all sorts of stuff. In the future, there’s a possibility of seeing the Wiimote plug into a skateboard, teddy bear, and other stuff of that ilk.

But perhaps this is little more than idle doodles from product designers trying to explore possibilities. Will more attachments for the Wiimote make for a better gaming world, or have we seen enough innovations for now? You be the judge of that.
