Nintendo to fully support indie game developers in WiiWare project

Wiimore - Image 1We all know how supportive Nintendo is to budding and indie game developers when it comes to WiiWare. And when Vicarious Visions CEO Karthik Bala revealed that Nintendo is also in charge of distributing the development kits to the developers, now we know how much Nintendo loves the small guys in the gaming industry.

Bala said that Nintendo is very much open with access to WiiWare’s development kits. Compared with trying to get a game approved and made available in Xbox Live, he said, it’s far easier to do so with Nintendo’s WiiWare service.

What makes Bala’s comments all the more important is that he works from a third-party company (Vicarious Visions being Activision‘s key developers), thus giving his own perspective on WiiWare as a third-party game developer.

WiiWare is slated to be released early next year, and we can’t even begin to imagine how excited we are about this service.
