Nintendo’s Gifting Feature region locked

Reports are coming in that Nintendo’s recently launched Gifting Feature for the Wii has a bit of a limitation. Error messages, which may put a cramp in your gift-giving plans for this Christmas, crop up every time you send a VC title to your family or friends abroad. Word is that North American residents attempting to use Nintendo’s Gifting Feature for the Wii to send Virtual Console gifts to friends/relatives abroad were being greeted with an error message.

The coding restriction is such that U.S. users are also unable to send gifts to their friends over in Canada as well. On the lighter side of the matter, no problems appear to have been reported for transactions within the regions.
