battle2Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will not have access to a developer console at all. How sure are we about this? As sure as game dev Johan Anderson’s tweet is: “No Console.”

This message was tweeted some hours ago on (where else) Twitter, which then led to some fiery exchange over at the official EA forums. It was so heated taht DICE had to say something about it officially and join in on the thread.

“We have not removed a console from BC2. The simple reason is that BC1 and BC2 never have had an in-game console. Which also means that the game won’t be possible to hack in this regard.”

It’s not surprising at all whythe game’s followers reacted so shocked upon hearing the news. After all, this is the first time in the Battlefield series to not have a dev console on PC. It’s not really a must-have per se, but fans do have it on their sure-want. The game devs, however, are saying that they’re doing this to avoid the proliferation of cheating in the game.
