No New Xbox Live Dashboard Update Tomorrow

With the recent rumors of Xbox Live 3.0 coming on Tuesday because of the Xbox Live downtime, a website called ‘WhoDigs?‘ contacted Microsoft for some clarification.

Xbox Live is set to go offline from 02:00 – 15:00 Tuesday Pacific Time (10:00 Tuesday – 01:00 Wednesday GMT). Speculation is that this is a pre-E3 servicing, ready for E3 content to be placed on the marketplace and also the long awaited Spring dashboard update.” Though some websites speculated that the update would feature a new version of the 360 Dashboard, this is not the case.

Microsoft told ‘WhoDigs?‘ that it’s a service maintenance upgrade on the backend for Xbox.com, Xbox Live and the Xbox.com forums. They’ve also said that there will be lots of E3 content during and after the show. They haven’t said anything about the press conference though.

Too bad, I really wanted background downloading, I still have a lot of demo’s to test out.
