No pre-order? Then no Wii for you ’til 2007

Oh noes! For anyone in Europe who’s been hoping to nab a Wii in time for Christmas but weren’t able to snap one up at the launch (but considering how fast the sales went, was there even a chance?), AND forgot to have the console pre-ordered, then we’re sad to say that you may have to wait well until 2007 before you’ll be able to start enjoying the new games that your friends probably already have.

According to the parent company of High Street retailer Currys and PC World, the DSG Group, with such a high demand for the Wii and with such a low supply, even with the four deliveries that are expected to come in between now and Christmas, pre-orders still won’t be filled in until 2007.

That means that retailers won’t be able to entertain walk-in customers, and they’d have to wait until all the previous pre-orders have been filled and until the next shipment of consoles come in.

Well, at least the next batches of consoles are expected to have less problems as compared to the earlier batches, right?
