GotFrag has an interview up with one of the top PvPers in StarCraft, Diablo Series”>Blizzard‘s World of Warcraft Arena circuit. In their interview with Jared “Vhell” Coulston, Vhell has some intriguing ideas for what the WoW is up to with the release of the Arena.

According to Vhell, the Arena system seems to be one of the viable ways by which Blizzard can get back into the eSports business, as it did with the creation of the Warcraft and Starcraft RTS games. Of course, since this is only the first season of the arena, you can expect there to be far more problems than usual. As Vhell noted in the interview,

They wanted to get their game into the spotlight and possibly get back into eSports like their prior games Warcraft/Starcraft. But, they haven’t put as much polish into this system as we’d like to see. There are a lot of issues that they still haven’t taken care of and it’s two weeks into the first season. There are disconnect bugs, getting empty games, and they’re still tuning classes.

At the same time, Vhell is hopeful that the Arena scene will become more and more professional as the days pass. Since Arena is in its infancy, he mentions, now is the best time to try it out.
