Heroes of Mana box shot - Image 1Some hot titles are hitting the shelves this week, what with much anticipated titles like Heroes of Mana and Luminous Arc finally arriving. EA’s explosive Madden NFL ’08, which should sell like hotcakes, will also be available on all platforms.

DS owners are getting much love – noteworthy titles include Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon that promises to take the favorite farming game deeper into RPG territory. High School Musical: Makin’ the Cut also expands the library by adding a sing-and-dance game for all ages.

Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics. Yet another shot at making a video game based on phenomenal tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons, D&D: Tactics faithfully implements D&D 3.5 rules as players follow the story of a young child. Taking either good or evil alignment ultimately decides the ending. Co-op allows players to work together, while deathmatch mode pits them against each other.

Billy the Wizard: Rocket Broomstick Racing. Quidditch pales in comparison, as Billy the Wizard: Rocket Broomstick Racing allows players to blast opponents off track with spells, or use magic to take down evil dragons. Much like kart racing, wizards atop their brooms go at it in this racing game. With challenging quests and up to eight characters to choose from, Rocket Broomstick Racing promises some good fun on the Wii.

High School Musical: Makin’ the Cut. Based on the movie loved by all ages, High School Musical: Makin’ the Cut promises a complete sing-and-dance experience on your DS. Choose from the movie characters or create your own before rocking to 25 songs using the Stylus and touch screen.

Luminous Arc. Fans of Japanese strategy RPGs have much to desire from Atlus‘ latest offering on the DS. Players take control of the Garden Children as they fight witches that threaten the world. Featuring the Vitae Imbuing system, extensive friendship system that integrates character relationships to the battlefield, and Wi-Fi multiplayer, Luminous Arc is almost a must-have for SPRG lovers.

Operation: Vietnam. Utilizing the Stylus, Operation: Vietnam combines an action-packed shooter experience with RTS elements by allowing players to control a squad of up to four soldiers. Missions vary from rescuing civilians to hunting enemies down. Destructible environments, objects, and live animals add to the experience.

Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon.  From being a farmer that does all sorts of chores, Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon allows players to catch monsters with different abilities to aid in fieldwork. More RPG elements have been included as skills improve and tools can be created. The game supports use of Wi-Fi to trade items with other players.
