PAIN single and multiplayer modes revealed

PAIN - Image 1Now that there’s a possible release date for Sony Computer Entertainment’s fun, mindless dose of PAIN, we’re just wondering what exactly we’ll get upon purchase of the PSN game. It’s a good thing that PAIN‘s Senior Producer Travis Williams posted a trailer that tells about the available Single and Multiplayer modes for this dose of hurtful fun. PAIN - Image 1Masochistic gamers patiently awaiting their dose of upcoming PSN title PAIN courtesy of SCE for the PlayStation 3, your attention please.

Travis Williams, Senior Producer for PAIN, just posted a new trailer featuring PAIN‘s various gameplay modes, and we’re just not decided whether we should wince at the hurt or smirk at the hilarity of it all. Single or multiplayer, the game just promises a chockfull of replay value.

There are three Single Player modes: PAINdemonium, the sandbox mode where players can beat up their characters the best way possible and collect points in the process. Then there’s the strange yet oddly-satisfying Mime Toss, where players get to toss Mimes through glass while flying up in the air for points. Then there’s the Spank the Monkey mode, where players beat the bejeezus out of evil monkey overlords out to conquer the world.

Sounds fun? Wait ’til you get to know what awaits you in multiplayer: in HORSE, players try to outdo each other by doing the most exquisitely painful human launches. There’s also bowling, which is anything BUT bowling. It mostly involves ten pins, explosives, cereal, and anvils among others, all except common sense. Go nuts. Finally, to cap the mindless yet fun gameplay, there’s the Fun with Explosives mode where masochists try to blow themselves up as often as they can. Fun to do when depressed.

We just can’t wait for PAIN‘s Fall release (possibly in November 29) via the PlayStation Network. How can something so wrong feel so right?
