Patch for CoD3 “Valor” map pack coming soon

Just last week, the “Valor” map pack for CoD3 was released via the Marketplace, and was then eagerly downloaded by everyone for the price of 800 Microsoft Points. However, many soon found that instead of having new maps to blast things in, what they had was a pack that didn’t work. This map pack was then pulled out of the Marketplace after a while.

After this particularly embarassing faux pas, Activision‘s CoD3 team was then put on the hot seat when Major Nelson interviewed them in his latest podcast. Although the CoD3 folks never explained why the maps didn’t work (or how it got released in that state), they did promise that they’re working 24-7 to get it all fixed. After that, they gave a walk-through of the five new maps which we’re all yet to lay eyes on.

Meanwhile, CoD3 team’s AxisOf3vil has also made a post in the Xbox forums, announcing that they will be re-releasing the Valor map pack “in the very near future.” Along with the map pack, they will also be releasing an update which is supposed to fix bugs that occur when the Ranked lobby countdown reaches zero, as well as the glitch where players fall off the map during a Ranked Match. He also notes that “Because we will be releasing both the map pack and the Title Update that addresses Ranked Match issues simultaneously, adequate time is needed for final testing with a release in the near future.”

There is, however, no word on whether those who downloaded the faulty Valor map pack will be compensated for the 800 MS points that they spent.
