PlayOnline’s banhammer strikes again on Final Fantasy XI

It seems that PlayOnline is really serious when it comes to letting loose the banhammer on players caught using cheats and other unacceptable devices on the MMORPG version of Square Enix‘s Final Fantasy XI (also on Xbox 360).

It seems that PlayOnline is really serious when it comes to letting loose the banhammer on players caught using cheats and other unacceptable devices on the MMORPG version of Square Enix‘s Final Fantasy XI (also on Xbox 360). Here are the exact figures released by the company covering the last crackdown report to November 14:

• Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement: 990 cases
• Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear: 20 cases
• Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action: 1,560 cases
• Gil and item exchange for real world money: 560 cases
• Instances of areas or monster monopolization: 730 cases
• Usage of synthesis and auction houses for RMT activities: 1,690 cases
• Accounts from people that were previously confirmed to have RMT connections, or that had violated the user agreements but re-subscribed to PlayOnline: 60 cases

PlayOnline added that the recent crackdown has led to the removal of approximately of two billion gil (the game’s money currency) in Final Fantasy XI. It was also mentioned that while these cases adversely affect the game, PlayOnline will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the Member Agreement.
