Pokemon Contests and Shintou Details
Here are more Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl goodies! Following the details on WiFi battles and WiFi trading, the Yahoo! site has updated to accommodate info on Pokemon contests, as well as the WiFi Shintou area. Pokemon contests will have three phases:
Phase 1 gives you points according to how well your pet is conditioned and dressed. This means you get to play dress-up with your Pokemon! It’s like Barbie but Poke-fied!
Read Phases 2 and 3 plus the new Shintou details after the jump!

You then move on to Phase 2 – dancing. A Pokemon will do a dance move and then you have to mimic that move as best as possible. This will require using the stylus and touchscreen! Hopefully, we won’t see any near-impossible challenges like in Kirby: Canvas Curse‘s Paint Panic. I’m still at 99.6% completion…
Phase 3 will be similar to Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. You will use attacks to get points that will depend on the applause you receive.
You earn ribbons for winning and can rank up until you reach the “Master” status.
The Shintou information is mostly old, but still a few new details are revealed. You will be using the touchscreen to excavate fossils. In addition to fossils, you can also search for elemental stones like the Water Stone or Fire Stone, which evolve certain Pokemon. Shintou is a co-op area accessible through LAN and WiFi play. Click the link below for the Yahoo website, which has videos of both fossil excavation and capture the flag. Thank you again to Bo130 of NeoGAF for translations!
